About Us

About us

BreatheEasy Eastbourne Support Group is run by a group of volunteers who suffer with lung illnesses so the most important thing we do in terms of support is offer an understanding ear from someone that has actually been there.

It is our aim that no person should have to suffer alone. Therefore, we try our hardest to be accommodating and comforting, offering a safe place where people with lung illnesses  can express themselves without prejudice.

It doesn’t matter what lung condition you have, we aim to support everyone.  Those that we support have various conditions ranging from Asthma, COPD, Bronchoectasis,  IPF,  Carcinoma,   Asbestosis and many more.  What matters is that we're connected and we strive to provide a supportive environment. In essence, we support each other through sharing experiences, knowledge and feeling.

BreatheEasy Eastbourne not only supports illness sufferers but also their family, carers and friends. Everyone is welcome!

What we do

We have monthly meetings at The Deerfold Centre in Eastbourne (please refer to 'Our Location' page for directions) and at the Ringmer Village Hall, Ringmer near Lewes where we meet and chat over a hot drink. We invite a monthly speaker to give us  talks on a whole range of subjects.

We have a monthly Raffle to raise funds for the Group,  we also have a monthly fun General Knowledge Quiz with a prize for the winner and we also have a seated Yoga session. We also arrange outings for our members during the warmer months. We have various activity groups including  a lively Social Club, Walking and an easy access vegetable allotment.

We organise Fund Raising events at local summer shows and in local shopping centres and supermarkets.

Our Groups

We have a very lively Social Club which gives our members a chance to meet new people.

We offer an ongoing Pulmonary Rehabilitation Exercise Maintenance Programme.  Please refer to our page for full details.

Our Walking Cuppa Club enables our members to walk at their own comfortable pace, or if you prefer, just meet up over a cuppa and chat.

We have a Green Gym Disabled Allotment in Gorringe Road, Eastbourne for our gardeners that enables them to grow flowers, vegetables and fruit or possibly learn new skills. The allotment has been designed to assist those with limited mobility.
