Like me, I'm sure many of you will have received the letter telling you to stay at home for 12 weeks. I was sent a text first telling me kindly that whilst staying in I could 'open a window'! The letter, when it came had more useful info about self isolating and it is fine to go out in the garden.
Yesterday, I got another letter which urged me to sign up to the register for extremely clinically vulnerable people. The letter includes a website which is as follows: www.gov.uk/coronaviris-extremely-vulnerable There is also a phone number which is: 0800 028 8327.
It is possible to register even if you haven't yet received a letter.
Based on the information you provide, if you don't have a support network of family, friends or neighbours nearby they will make sure you are helped with food, essential supplies and extra care.
Some people accross the country (and maybe here in Eastbourne) have received a phone call to check they are ok and, if required, a box of food to last a week and help to get medication. Pictures posted have shown quite a good variety of tinned and packaged food. It may not be to your taste, but for anyone who is isolated and cannot get food, it would be a lifeline.
The information seems to be very slow being sent out in some instances, so I hope my post may help someone who is still waiting to hear.
We're both fine, thanks, Kim, and still getting our food deliveries at the moment which we're sharing with a couple of others. I miss the companionship of others in the groups I go to, but have gained from greater phone contact with my neighbours and old friends I haven't spoken to in a long while. I am blessed with a lovely family and we keep in touch via WhatsApp and Facetime on a daily basis. Richard came yesterday with some of our grandson's birthday cake, so we reciprocated by letting him take our BBQ charcoal so they could cook their burgers and have a 'party' for 5 yr old Henry. They have a large garden so the smoke wouldn't cause anyone nearby to have a problem. No visitors, able to go to them of course, but they had fun anyway.
Just to make you laugh - Henry woke up yesterday morning and went in to his sister to say, 'Hey! I've got five year old legs today!' I hope the rest of his body caught up by the end of the day!
Hope you're keeping well, Kim. xx
Thank you Moria great information hope you are well
